At Farmingdale, primarily a commuter school, fewer than 8 percent of the 7,019 students reside on campus. Room rates range from $3,115 per semester for a double to $3,835 for a single. Located right by the Performing Arts Center and field, Earle Hall has four floors, offering single and double occupancy accomodations with communal bathrooms.
Yes, NCC students who live on Adelphi’s campus must obtain a meal plan. Home to the 26th President of the United States of America, Sagamore Hill is the “Summer White House” of Theodore Roosevelt. The house is furnished with priceless artifacts, Roosevelt’s hunting trophies and, as it played host to many dignitaries, was the space used to negotiate peace talks for the Russo-Japanese War. The museum, which sits on the property, is centered around Roosevelt’s presidency and the work he did throughout his life. Sagamore Hill is 18 miles away from Adelphi University and a must see attraction for history enthusiasts.
Each of our seven residential communities offers support and convenience, as well as opportunities for personal growth, cultural exploration, and interaction with peers and staff. When students are not living off-campus, they can choose between any of Adelphi’s 9 on-campus dorms. The most popular dorms at Adelphi University are Chapman Hall, Earle Hall, Eddy Hall.
Adelphi University is conveniently located in beautiful Garden City, New York. If you have a car, we will assist you in obtaining a parking sticker from Public Safety. Parking is located right behind the resident hall and is free! Should your car need to be moved, notification will come from Public Safety with alternative parking options given. Everyone staying in resident halls must be fully vaccinated.
This large colonial style home boasts an open first floor plan with granite floors throughout, a large living room, Dining… Tuition payment plan allows students the opportunity to spread the annual tuition and fee expenses into several monthly installments. In the floor plans above, you can see a slight difference in the bedroom depth (just a little over 1’), but they are essentially the same size between the two types of rooms.
The Health and Services Center is conveniently located next to Waldo Hall. Linen Hall, has two floors for women and two for both men and women. The building was named in honor of Dr. Paul Dawson Eddy, the third president of Adelphi (1937–1965). Chapman Hall has four floors, two of which are only for women and two of which are coed.
There is also a full food court, multiple restaurants, and even a movie theatre attached to the mall. Roosevelt Field is also home to where Charles Lindberg took off for his historic solo transatlantic flight in 1927. The once airfield was named after Theordore Roosevelt’s son, Quintin Roosevelt, who died heroicly in the first World War.
The school, which rents dorms to the nearby New York Institute of Technology and Briarcliffe College, is planning to increase its own dormitory space but does not offer help with off-campus housing. The Thomas Dixon Lovely Ballroom is a versatile marist dorms conference facility. It can be sectioned off by wall units to create three separate rooms to compliment all of your conference needs. Each sectioned area has individual A/V capabilities and the space as a whole can accomodate up to 700 guests.
Chapman Hall is one of the smaller dorms that is on campus. Although the size may not be large, there are still plenty of resources here for you to use. This state-of-the-art building is located adjacent to Swirbul Library and is near the softball and baseball fields. Adelphi rent is more expensive than the national monthly average of $2,095/mo. Weather your family is financially well-off or unaffluent, you might be eligible for some type of financial aid in the form of grant, loan or scholarship.
