I am not sure about this article but it seems to get a lot of attention. Food magazine ads have a lot of money to spend in order to create the illusion that they’re good for us. Sometimes it’s done well, sometimes it’s done poorly, but most of the time it’s just something to write about anyway.

I’m not sure how much of an issue this is. I think any food magazine that has to pay $10,000 to get a picture of a table is probably doing something right. Any food magazine that is going to spend $10,000 to get a picture of a table, has to have some kind of connection with the consumer, is probably doing something right. In my opinion that’s more than any food magazine that’s done really well.

Sure, but I think that this is the first time food magazines have tried to advertise in a way that isn’t “I don’t want to advertise in this magazine. I want to make $$$!”. I also think its an interesting move to try and make a connection between advertisers and the consumer. I personally feel like advertisers are pretty cheap, but I feel like the consumer is probably more expensive.

While advertisers and consumers are probably both doing good things for each other, it is the advertiser that seems to make the most money in the food industry, and I am here to tell you that advertisers are the real money makers. Food magazines have been so successful in marketing their product that they have had an incredible amount of power over the consumer.
