It has been completely removed and I have been advised to keep a check on the area for any signs of recurrence. The Doctors have told me that they have caught it early which has reassured me. I wasn’t sure if it was a new mole or if I already had it and it had changed as I have quite a few moles. There is a family history of malignant melanoma, so I looked around for somewhere to have the lesion looked at privately. It is likely that a combination of education and increased resources will be required to improve diagnostic accuracy of 2-week-wait referrals. I’ve had a biopsy to remove a mole and was told my GP would let me know the results in 4/5 weeks. I receive a letter from the hospital five days after my biopsy to say that I am due a review appointment in a month. I was meant to have the review appointment in two months.
